تناول البحث موضوع ( تمثلات الايقونة الحاكمة في الرسم الاوربي الحديث ) والذي عني بقضية الأيقونات الحاكمة من خلال توظيفها واستخداماتها في الرسم الاوربي ، وتضمن أربعة فصول : عنى الأول منها بالإطار المنهجي للبحث ، وأحتوى على مشكلة البحث التي تم فيها تسليط الضوء على ( الايقونات الحاكمة في الرسم الاوربي الحديث ) ، وتحددت مشكلة البحث من خلال الإجابة على التساؤل الآتي : ماهي الايقونات الحاكمة في الرسم الاوربي الحديث ؟ ، أما الفصل الثاني فقد تضمن الإطار النظري الذي احتوى على مبحثان شمل الأول مفهوم الايقونة الحاكمة ، أما المبحث الثاني فقد شمل الايقونة الحاكمة في الرسم الاوربي الحديث ، اما الفصل الثالث فقد عني بإجراءات البحث ، والفصل الرابع فقد احتوى على النتائج والاستنتاجات ، ومنها :
- اعتمدت الايقونة في الرسم الاوربي على التأثير العاطفي للألوان والاشكال واستخدام الفنان طريقة لتوصيل مشاعرهم الداخلية كالخوف والحزن واصبحت اعمالهم ذات نبرة كئيبة ، انموذج ( 2 ) .
- وضف الرسامون المعاصرون الشخصية الدينية في اعمالهم فجاء هذا التوظيف يحمل خصائص رئيسية كهيئة الشكل ، انموذج (1) .
اخذت الايقونة مكانتها في فنون المعاصرة التي استطاعت ان تطور الاشكال التي تحمل دلالات ايقونية ذات ابعاد دينية من حيث المبدأ لخدمة اسرار العقيدة او لتبسيط مفاهيمها وترسيخها في عقول المجتمعات التي نراها الى يومنا هذا كمنظومة خلدها الاساطير .
