Abstract

The motives for shaping interior design are renewed to keep pace with the development of civilization at all levels. Therefore, the form is generated from non-formal factors imposed by the nature of the era characterized by speed, flexibility and change. The interior design resulted in flexible, fluid and dynamic formations. The designer's imagination was not the only source for deriving his ideas or his mental images stored in his memory, but rather it resulted from several factors that combined to generate it, paving the way for the perceptions, simulation and inspiration of those formations. Therefore, the research problem crystallized with the following question: "What are the factors affecting the formation of the fluid design of the contemporary interior space, which enable the interior designer to find new and different creative formulations from what came before?" The research aimed to "identify the factors influencing the formation of streamlined design in contemporary interior space".

The theoretical framework dealt with studying the concept of streamlined design and the presence of form in interior design, with studying the factors influencing its formation. The research came out with a set of conclusions, including:

  • Many factors combined in generating and forming streamlined interior space; including intellectual factors that were manifested from the precursors of contemporary thought in society and all its social, cultural and economic ideologies, and other technical (technological) factors, and scientific phenomena that included all types of natural sciences.
