The effect of the ocean environment on the formation of the sculptural monument

Abstract

Our Iraqi natural environment in general and the environment of Basra in
particular have aesthetic, social and cultural dimensions, which made it a rich
environment in front of the visual artist, so he produced sculptural works that show
the city in a civilized and urban way .. On this basis came the current study tagged
(The impact of the surrounding environment in the formation of the sculptural
monument in Basra Governorate) Which deals with the sculptural works found in the
squares and streets of Basra. The research consisted of four chapters, the first
chapter dealt with the
methodological framework of the research, represented by the research problem,
which was defined by the question (What is the effect of the surrounding
environment on the formation of the sculptural monument in Basra Governorate?
Passing through the importance of the research and up to its limits for the period
While the second chapter was represented by the theoretical framework 0206-0172
and previous studies, it was divided into three sections, the first dealt with the
aesthetic values in the surrounding environment, while the third section came under
the title of the philosophical concept of environment, and the third was titled the
environment and its relationship to the sculptural monument in Basra. The third
chapter contains the research procedures that include: the research community, and
which was analyzed through the researchers ’adoption of cognitive 4its sample
indicators and theoretical and cognitive concepts. The fourth chapter included the
results of the research, the most important of which were:
1-Most of the works do not fit with the space in which the (sculptural) artwork was
placed, so it was better to place a monument three sides of Basra, on an area three
times larger than the volume of work, surrounding it with suitable street furniture and
making it a public park to achieve social and entertainment communication at the

2-The lack of interest in the correct future urban planning of the city and the lack of
places designated for the establishment of artistic works, concentrating the work in
areas without others The study reached some conclusions, the most important of
which are: (The existence of a close link between the sculptural works and the
social environment of Basra, as most of the monuments and statues did not
depart from the framework of the city's heritage and civilizational history). The study
