Abstract

The clown character has an important and prominent role in dealing with human customs and behavior in a humorous way, as it touches on criticizing political, social and religious aspects, as no previous civilization was devoid of the jokes and sermons of the clown who alleviated people’s sense of daily troubles. He is one of the distinctive elements whose words and actions are not devoid of wisdom and the philosophical side. The multiplicity of the clown character’s masks in children’s theater forced him to adopt a special technique in conveying ideas to the recipient in an educational and instructive manner. The researcher seeks to study and diagnose the technique that the clown possesses and the means by which that technique was reached. The researcher took the Iraqi clown as the subject of his research, which consisted of the first chapter, which contains the research problem, its importance, the research objective, its limits, and the definition of terms. The second chapter is the theoretical framework and consists of two sections. The first section included the clown technique in the theatrical performance, while the second section included the role of the clown in children’s theater. The third chapter (researcher’s procedures) was chosen intentionally. The fourth chapter (Results and conclusions), then a list of sources and references, and appendices .
